9/10 - avec mention spéciale pour Natalie Portman, qui, pour un premier film, s'en sort remarquablement.

Avis de Insincere Dave, sur imdb.com : "This stark portrayal of humanity and inhumanity is produced with the style and finesse that one expects from Luc Besson. In addition, the combined talents of Jean Reno, Natalie Portman and Gary Oldman provide not only an unmatched on-screen chemistry, but also three perfectly created characterisations, the like of which are rarely seen in today's cinema. This film has my personal recommendation of being the best piece of cinema that I know of. I have not seen anything that matches it in terms of intensity or emotion - and believe me, I've looked. I found myself caring for the characters involved, an unique experience in itself. This is not the type of film for a night in with your mates, but nevertheless, it is an unforgettable piece of cinematic history."
Avis de dsai2286, sur imdb.com : "It is simply ridiculous how out of hand this whole rating system has become. Leon: the Professional is a great example of an overrated film that is somehow continuously mistaken for a "great piece of cinema." This film is nothing special. Besson is simply obsessed with assassins and their stories; I only wish you crazy IMDb film "raters" would realize how unsettling the main story is, that of little Natalie Portman wanting to be an assassin. Perhaps if she were at least 17 or really "18" it would work better. It is unacceptable for this story to be taken seriously or even respected when in the end it revolves around a child who wants to murder. The plot is quite simple and nothing to marvel at. The opening sequence also takes itself too seriously and is cliché. However, I am more than willing to accept that there will one day be a quintessential film made about hit men that supersedes all assassin films. A film with richer more complex characters."
